Parent Support Group
For stressed out Parents of HS Seniors and College Freshmen
Learn how to navigating this new phase with as little anxiety as possible.

Beginning October 2, 2026
6:00-7:30
In-person

$50/session.


Format:

Each week will start with a grounding exercise or short meditation you can share with your student
-
Each week we will discuss issues pertinent to choosing a college, applying, preparing to start college, and navigating Freshmen year pressures. Members are encouraged to bring their own questions

Members get to choose the following week’s theme

Sessions run 90 minutes
Some themes might include:

Stepping back from the parenting role you are used to
-
Becoming independent, being alone, or living on your own
-
Setting and maintaining effective personal boundaries
-
Supporting your student from afar
-
Anxiety management tools
-
Grief around letting your kid go
This group is good for:
-
Parents and caregivers of HS seniors planning to go on to college-applications and choosing a college
-
Parents and caregivers of recent HS grads who are getting ready to move to campus-helping them manage personal needs on-campus
This group is NOT for:
-
Parents looking for tips and tools for getting into college
-
People with serious anxiety or other mental health issues better served through weekly, individual therapy

Requirements:

Members should plan to attend ALL of the first 4 sessions
-
After that, you are welcome to come as needed, or if the planned topic interests you
-
New members may only join at predetermined entry points designed by the facilitator
