You see you wouldn't ask why the rose that grew from the concrete had damaged petals.
On the contrary, we would all celebrate its tenacity.
"The Rose That Grew From Concrete"
The main goal of adolescence is to become an independent, healthy adult. Separating from your family can be hard, on both you and your parents. I can help you figure out who you are and what kind of adult you are going to become.
“Adolescence is like cactus.”
*Teens should plan on meeting weekly.
Sometimes called transitional aged youth, this is indeed a time of transition! Change is scary. I can help you manage the chaos of that change and grow instead of stagnating.
It really does take a village because raising a family is hard work. It's OK to ask for help now and then, especially when your kids enter a new phase. Parent coaching can take place in one or two sessions, or at regular intervals. Let's spend some time exploring new skills so you can support your kids as they develop.
Processing trauma is a personal journey. The goal isn’t to forget it. The goal is to integrate it into your story in a way that doesn’t overwhelm every other part. Judith Herman said, "The consulting room is a privileged space dedicated to memory. Within that space, survivors gain the freedom to know and tell their stories."
Walk & Talk
Wellness experts agree that as little as 10 minutes out in nature can help improve mood. Combining a walk in nature with a therapeutic session can help people open up and feel less pressured. I find this modality works great for teens and young adults who may need to move or who aren't as comfortable
with intimate conversations.
Throughout our lives, women experience many transitions. You watch your toddler start school; you watch your kid become a teen; you let them go as they become adults. At the same time you change jobs, start and end relationships, shift roles, and look for meaning in it all. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone to process all that change with?
